Recharging is a non-issue for drag racing.. how often do you get to make a pass?

No thanks. Batteries suck. I don't like relying on remote conversion of fuel into electricity back into potential energy. I'll wait for hydrogen fuel cells or fusion. Either or.

You're working on the fusion part, right Professor? Hydrogen is here now, but distribution & oil companies a hindrance there. Just have to stick w/the dinosaur shit for now, I suppose. CR-X out of shop today! Hell, yeah baby!

Hydrogen electric cars I don't think are going to pan out. Good battery electric cars are close, and make no mistke, they will be good. Beave you are right, the problem is battery tech isn't allowing electrics to be right there with the internal combustions yet. But they will be.. Batteries are getting more robust, smaller, cheaper and more powerful.

Any case the batteries are only the storage device like an empty tank. Where gasoline is a energy source and offers easy compact storage too. The power generation for the electric vehicles is being worked on also, but that is a separate issue. We can work on good battery cars at the same time the power-gen side is advancing, nothing wrong with that! As far as classics and sporting cars go, I think there will be internal combustion cars around forever. For commuting I think their days are numbered.
